The head coach of the Ukraine beach soccer team, Mykola Kostenko, commented on the team's performance at the fourth qualifying stage for the EuroLeague 2025 Super Final.

The Ukraine beach soccer team qualified for the EuroLeague 2025 Super Final after a successful performance at the fourth qualifying stage in Chisinau from August 1 to 3. The blue and yellow team secured second place in Group B with victories over France (7:2) and Latvia (5:1), as well as a loss to Italy (2:8). They accumulated 12 points in the overall standings, securing their place in the tournament in Viareggio.

The team's coach, Mykola Kostenko, shared his impressions of Ukraine's performance in Chisinau.

"Overall, we are satisfied with the boys' results in Moldova. We accomplished our minimum program by securing a spot in the EuroLeague 2025 Super Final. As for the team's play itself, there were some nuances. Of course, this refers to the last match against Italy. 

The first two matches, against France and Latvia, went well both from a gameplay perspective and in terms of results. The game with Italy, however, left many questions. It unsettled us, showing that there is still work to be done. Although the first half ended 1-1, we played it quite well. But then things started going downhill in the second half. I cannot help but mention several refereeing errors. Of course, we do not blame our defeat solely on the referees' actions. However, initially, they prevented Maxim Voytuk from scoring through himself when the score was 2-2, which is forbidden in beach soccer, and Italy immediately went ahead. Then a defender knocked the ball out of an empty goal, and again the referee did not react. Finally, they gave Samoylenko a second yellow card for what should not have been a penalty foul. This is too much. We even had a brief discussion with the referees.

Despite this, I emphasize that we are satisfied with the boys' play and commitment overall. The task of qualifying for the Super Final has been accomplished, which is most important. There's still about a month until these competitions—so we will prepare accordingly.

Now our players will participate in Kiev and Ukraine championships that will take place over the next few weeks. So the boys will be working with their clubs, and we particularly emphasized the need to prepare for the national team's performance. We plan to hold a training camp in Kiev just before the Super Final. 

Regarding the lineup, there won't be any major changes. There are some objective and subjective reasons why not all of those we were counting on could come to Moldova for this trip. I hope they will be able to participate in the Super Final. So if there are any changes, it will only involve a few players,"— said Mykola Kostenko.

As a reminder, the EuroLeague 2025 Super Final will take place from September 9 to 14 in Viareggio, Italy.
