The new season project involves 16 teams participating in two stages.

Group Stage

The Ukrainian First League championship is held under a round-robin system in two rounds, at home and away, in two groups — A and B.

Final Stage

The top two teams from each of the groups A and B advance to a playoff stage for determining the champion and prize winners of the First League. This stage consists of two matches — home and away (A1—B1 — for first place, A2—B2 — for third place).

If the playoff matches result in teams having an equal number of goals scored and conceded, then a penalty shootout will determine the winner.

Overall, according to the competition format, each team plays 14 matches within their groups, as well as two more — at the final stage for determining the prize winners of the championship.

Based on the results of the Ukrainian First League season-2025/2026, teams occupying positions from first to sixth will earn the right to be promoted and play in the Ukrainian Championship among women's clubs in the top league for the 2026/2027 season.

The basic start date of the new championship is September 6.
