Head coach of our women's team, Volodymyr Pyatenko, commented on the official website of the UAF with the latest news about the national team:

— On June 21, we will depart for a neighboring country where a short-term preparation stage is planned. This will primarily be a selection camp since due to various reasons, we decided not to include the entire group of experienced players: some need to recover after an exhausting season, others — to treat injuries.

— Did you quickly determine replacements?

— Since the selection process is ongoing, there were no issues. We immediately called up five debutants and players who have been invited to the national team only occasionally in the past. Let them prove their professionalism. Interestingly, two players who play overseas, — Yuliya Khristyuk and Tanya Boychuk — will get a chance to showcase themselves.

— What do you say about the Polish national team?

— For them, the friendly match in Mielec will be a general rehearsal before departing for the final stage of Euro-2025 in Switzerland. I am convinced that this matchup will be beneficial for both teams. The hosts will have their last chance to verify the effectiveness of their home preparations, while we — to assess what value newcomers hold against a strong opponent.
