Before the start of the meeting, the head of the UAF Women's and Girls' Football Committee, Anastasiia Kliptchenko, thanked all clubs for their participation in conducting and completing another game season that took place under difficult wartime conditions but maintained a sporting spirit until the last round, presenting countless bright goals, victories, and positive emotions.

The results of the 2024/2025 season were reviewed and plans for the upcoming seasons regarding the conduct of the Ukrainian Women's Football Championship in the highest league were presented.

The new season in the top league will take place in a somewhat modified format. Ten teams will participate. Unfortunately, there were no personnel changes to be avoided — the league lost another participant this time. This time, Kyiv's "Obolon" joined the list of those who have departed.

Thus, the format for conducting matches in the elite division was reviewed. The game season-2025/2026 teams will start with playing two rounds according to a standard home-away system (18 rounds). After the first stage, two groups of five teams each will be formed, which will play another two rounds (10 rounds).

The champion group will determine the winners and three representatives of Ukraine in European competitions for the 2026/2027 season, while the survival group will see a tense battle to retain their place in the elite — only three teams will remain, two more forced to leave the league.

Each team is looking forward to 26 matches at the highest level.

Also, clubs agreed that starting with the new season, the match calendar will be formed based on base dates, and the final day and time of the match will be determined by the home club seven days before the game.

According to the Plan-Calendar of All-Ukrainian Competitions in Women's Football in the Highest League for the 2025/2026 season, the base date for the first round of the new championship is August 3 (Sunday).

Formation of a New League

Starting with the 2026/2027 season, it is planned to introduce an Elite League in the competition system for women's football, into which eight teams will enter based on the results of the 2025/2026 season.

According to the presented plan, representatives of the elite division will play four standard rounds with home-away matches — a total of 28 games.

At the same time, the familiar top league will also retain its format but in conjunction with teams that have been demoted to a lower class based on the results of the 2025/2026 season, along with the best six teams from the first division.

And third-ranked First League will be formed according to the standard territorial principle as in previous seasons.

The final format of the Elite League and top league for the 2026/2027 season will be approved additionally.
