The day before the second match of Ukraine's U-21 team at Euro 2025 against Finland, head coach Unai Melgosa held a traditional press conference.
"All our players are healthy and recovering. Yes, we didn't have much time to recover, but all other teams are in the same situation. Even those who had minor injuries have fully recovered. There are no problems with that."
The upcoming game will be a tough one. Of course, it will be difficult, just like every match at Euro. It's important for us to manage our emotions. This is the lesson we learned from the previous match: if we're well-prepared and control our emotions — we can show good football.
Regarding Finland's team — it never gives up. They are very consistent in their actions, they put a lot of effort into every game without doubting themselves. The season is in full swing in Finland, so the players are in great physical shape. I like the mentality of the team, that they always play until the end, and they have high-quality players. For us, this will be a very serious opponent.
I know there are many fans from Finland here. Even my brother is coming from Finland because he lives there. I asked him to support Ukraine this time to help us. I'm sure the atmosphere will be fantastic. We've already played here in Košice, and there were a lot of Ukrainian supporters. This is a great atmosphere for such a tournament, and it will also be a very good experience for us — to play in a full stadium," noted Unai Melgosa.
