Following the first play-off match of the UEFA Nations League-2024/2025 against Belgium, which ended in a victory (3:1), head coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhiy Rebrov held a press conference.

— How would you comment on Oleksiy Hutsulak's play, who equalized the score?

— I know Oleksiy very well. He didn't need to say anything. I saw that he was ready and prepared for the game, so he came onto the field. He went out very aggressively in defense, took possession of the ball. This goal was very important for us, it was a turning point and helped the team greatly.

— How can you explain what happened in the second half?

— We added more desire, in high pressing, made certain adjustments. This is a two-match series. In the second half, we managed to do many things well. I am very pleased that the boys gained confidence after the first game.

— How would you evaluate such crazy support from fans?

— I am grateful to all the fans who came. They supported the team, thanks to them we turned the course of the match around. We are very thankful. You yourselves heard how everyone was supporting the Armed Forces and our national team.

— Is it known how serious the injuries are for Yurii Konoplev and Oleksiy Syts?

— We all hope for the best. I saw that Oleksiy has a serious injury, he is very upset. We will do everything to get the players back on their feet. The second game is very important. I hope we can count on all the players.

— Could there be an emergency right-back?

— We would do it gladly, but unfortunately, we don't have that option now. First of all, we cannot make the documents for leaving Ukraine, and only two days remain until the game. I believe we have enough players even if we can't use the listed footballers. But we hope everything will be fine.

We remind you that the return match will take place in Ghent, Belgium at Cegeka Arena on March 23 (kick-off at 21:45 Kyiv time).
