The appointment was made based on the results of an open competition that took place for the first time since 2017 to determine the coaches of national women's teams. Its main goal was to create a motivating environment and attract professionals who are eager to develop Ukrainian women's football.

Vladimir Pyatenko was appointed as the head coach of Ukraine's national women's team. The main coach of Ukraine's youth women's team is Oleg Bortnik, WU-17 girls' team — Lyudmila Lemesko, and WU-15 girls' team — Nataliya Ignafovych.

During the selection process, candidates presented their programs for developing the teams and their vision of modern football.

“The competition aimed to assess the potential of coaches with whom we are currently working and can work in the future. The criteria involved preparing a presentation by the coach regarding their approach and vision for developing women's football. Since contracts have ended, the goal was not to declare someone as an unqualified professional but to provide an opportunity to update knowledge and see if the coaches are ready to continue working, develop, and invest in the future of women's football,” — noted Anastasia Klipchenco, head of the Women's and Girls' Football Committee at the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF).

After approval, the coaches of Ukraine's women's and girls' teams announced their staffs with whom they will work on preparing the teams for future challenges.
