Today, on November 13, the Ukrainian women's national team WU-17 will start in the first qualifying round of the 2025 European Championship. The first opponent for the blue and yellow team will be Moldova. In addition to them, other opponents in the group include players from Malta and Romania.

"The strength of teams in this group is roughly equal. Unfortunately, there isn't much information available about them. We played against those same Romanians at the UEFA Development Tournament, but both national teams have seen a lot of newcomers since then. Therefore, we will be updating our dossier on opponents directly during the matches. The main thing is to minimize mistakes," — noted head coach of the Ukrainian women's team Serhiy Sapronov the day before.

League A

In League A, 28 teams will compete, including the current champion Spain and seven teams that moved up from League B after the second qualifying round of Euro-2023/2024. The participants were divided into seven groups. Teams in each group will play a mini-tournament on the home ground of one of the participating teams.

Teams finishing fourth will continue their season in the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round will depend on which positions the teams take in their respective groups during the first round. The Faroe Islands will also participate despite having a direct qualification to the final stage as hosts.

League B

In League B, 21 teams (including those that dropped from League A in the second qualifying round of Euro-2023/2024) will compete. These national teams are fighting for promotion to League A across six groups. Winners of each group and runners-up with the best results against teams finishing first and third in their respective groups will move up to a higher division.

Qualification for the final stage

In early 2025, the second qualifying round will take place. Based on the results of matches in League A, seven teams will be determined to join the Faroe Islands in the final stage.
