Squad announced: Ukraine women's team prepares for EURO 2025 qualifying playoffs

The head coach of the Ukraine women’s national team, Volodymyr Pyatenko, has announced the names of the players who will prepare for the first round of the EURO 2025 qualifying playoffs.

The coach is counting on 22 players.

Ukraine Women's National Team Roster

Goalkeepers: Kateryna Samson (Vorskla Poltava), Daryna Bondarchuk (Metalist 1925 Kharkiv).

Defenders: Kateryna Korsun, Yana Kotyk, Iryna Podolskа (all - Vorskla Poltava), Olha Basanska, Lesya Olkhova (both - Metalist 1925 Kharkiv), Lyubov Shmatko (Fomget, Turkey).

Midfielders: Viktoriya Hiryn (Ladomyr Volodymyr), Veronika Andrukhiv, Dayana Semkiv (both - Kolos Kovalivka), Yana Kalinina (Vorskla Poltava), Yelyzaveta Molodyuk, Tamila Khimych, Yuliya Shevchuk, Darya Apanashchenko, Natiya Pantsulaya, Anna Petryk (all - Metalist 1925 Kharkiv), Nicole Kozlova (Glasgow City, Scotland).

Forwards: Roksolana Kravchuk (Vorskla Poltava), Olha Ovdiychuk (Fomget, Turkey), Inna Hlushchenko (Lille, France).

It is noteworthy that the Ukraine women’s national team will face Turkiye in the first round of the EURO 2025 qualifying playoffs. The first match will be held on October 25 in Istanbul at the Esenler Arena. The second match will take place on October 29 in Chișinău at the Zimbru Stadium. The kickoff time for both matches is 18:00 Kyiv time.

Recall that as a result of the group stage of qualification, the two best teams from each group in League A earned places in the final tournament of the European Championship, which will take place from July 2 to 27, 2025, in Switzerland: Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain. Another participant is the host nation. The remaining seven spots will be contested in two rounds of playoffs (home and away matches).

First Round (October 23–29)

In one path, teams that finished third and fourth in League A will face the winners of the groups and the three best second-placed teams from League C. Eight winners will advance to the second round.

In the other path, group winners (excluding Switzerland) and the three best second-placed teams from League B will play against the worst second-placed team, four third-placed teams, and the best fourth-placed team in League B. Six winners will advance to the second round.

Second Round (November 27 – December 3)

In the second play-off round, 14 teams will compete directly for seven spots in the EURO 2025 final tournament, which will feature 16 teams in total.
