Mykola Mykytyuk: "Our focus now is to recover and prepare for the third-place match"

Ukrainian futsal player Mykola Mykytiuk shared his impressions after the semifinal match of the 2024 World Cup against Brazil.

On October 2 in Tashkent, the Ukraine futsal team lost to Brazil (2:3) in the semifinals of the Futsal World Cup 2024. After the match, Mykytyuk expressed his thoughts on the game.

"We were ready for this match, and in my opinion, we performed well and tried to impose our style of play. I'm sure everyone believed we could beat Brazil. Why shouldn't we be able to do it? I believe we can compete with teams like Brazil, Spain, and any other team. It all comes down to mentality. Right now, the most important thing is to recover and prepare for the third-place match. I want to thank all our supporters who believed in us and provided their support, and most importantly, I want to thank our defenders who are currently defending our country from the terrorist state.

I believe this defeat will not negatively affect the team in the next match. On the contrary, it will lift our spirits. That’s in the past now. The main thing is to recover properly," said Mykola Mykytyuk.

As a reminder, on October 6 in Tashkent, the Ukraine futsal team will compete for third place in the 2024 World Cup against the loser of the Argentina vs. France match.
