Ukraine's beach soccer team coach Mykola Kostyenko has announced the squad for the European qualification tournament to the 2025 World Cup and set tasks for his players.

From October 4th to 13th, Ukraine's beach soccer national team will participate in the European qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Cup in Cadiz, Spain. Our team is in Group F along with Poland and Norway.

Coach of the blue-and-yellow team Mykola Kostyenko expects to field twelve players at these competitions.

Goalkeepers: Andriy Nerus ("Champion 2023"), Oleksandr Poslavskyi, Roman Pazenko (both — "Alternative").

Field players: Ivan Gluts'kyi ("Griffin"), Mykita Levchenko (NC Beachsoccer), Andriy Borsuk, Timofii Lystopad, Ihor Levchenko (all — "Artur Music"), Oleh Zborovs'kyi, Andriy Pashko, Oleh Sirenko, Anton Ross (all — «Alternative»).

"Regarding the tasks for the qualifying tournament, they are always maximal in our case. We want to resolve everything on the field and qualify for the World Cup final stage.

Our first matches will be against Norway and Poland. As for the Norwegians, we tried to gather information but unfortunately haven't found any yet. It's like a mystery. They didn't participate in the recent Euroleague, so this year we haven't seen their game. But Scandinavian football is on the rise right now, so I'm sure — it won't be easy for us.

Poland's national team has slightly updated its lineup this season with several young newcomers and a good goalkeeper (Filip Manka. — Ed.) who is very aggressive and plays the ball well with his feet. This team always looks physically strong, so it will definitely be a tough match-up. 

We also have newcomers in our squad — promising young players. Anton Ross from "Alternative" and Mykita Levchenko from NS Beachsoccer are very talented performers. We planned to invite Timofii Lystopad from "Artur Music" last year as well — we're counting on him a lot. It's good that the experienced Andriy Borsuk has returned to the team. So, we will prepare and aim for a positive result."

Match times are in Kyiv time.

The top sixteen teams will advance to the Round of 16 based on group stage results — first and second place finishers from each group, plus four best third-place finishers.

Winners in the knockout stages form two groups with the top two teams from each receiving direct qualification for the World Cup. On the final day of competition, participants will play round-robin matches to determine their rankings on the tournament. 

Matches of the Round of 16, second group stage and round-robin playoffs will take place from October 9-13.

As a reminder, the next World Cup in beach soccer is scheduled to take place on the Seychelles Islands from May 1st to May 11th, 2025.
