Ukraine teams' success highlighted at UEFA conference in Berlin
At the 14th UEFA Conference for National Team Coaches and Technical Directors held in Berlin, the achievements of Ukraine’s national teams over the past year were given special recognition.
One of the key participants of the conference was Ukraine U-21 head coach Unai Melgosa, who, alongside representatives from Italy and Croatia, took part in a roundtable discussion on the successes of Ukraine's national team system. Ukraine is one of only four national associations whose teams have achieved outstanding results, including qualification for the European Championships at senior, U-17, and U-19 levels, as well as qualification for the U-20 World Cup in 2025.

Apart from Ukraine, only Spain, Italy, and France can boast similar achievements.
The first part of the event focused on national teams' participation in EURO 2024. The organizers presented a vast array of statistical and analytical data gathered during the tournament. Presentations were delivered by the head coaches of Germany (Julian Nagelsmann), Portugal (Roberto Martínez), Georgia (Willy Sagnol), and Spain (Luis de la Fuente).

“It was an intense and productive few days. It allowed us to gain different perspectives on world football and national team football, share experiences from various contexts and conditions, and build new contacts for Ukrainian football. During the event, the organizers also highlighted the success of Ukraine’s entire national team structure over the past year, which gives us even more motivation to continue improving the national team institution,” said Unai Melgosa.
