EURO 2025 (U-21): reactions from Ukraine U-21 goalscorers against Northern Ireland

Midfielders Nazar Voloshyn and Maksym Bragaru of Ukraine U-21 shared their thoughts after their EURO 2025 (U-21) qualifying match against Northern Ireland.

On September 10, Ukraine U-21 secured their eighth consecutive victory in the EURO 2025 (U-21) qualifiers. At Ballymena's Showgrounds Stadium, they defeated Northern Ireland 2:1, securing their place in the final tournament. The goals for Ukraine were scored by Nazar Voloshyn and Maksym Bragaru. The heroes of the match reflected on their performance.

“It was a very tough match. We had some good moments, but in the second half, we dropped our level and the opponent started to apply pressure on our goal. We lost control of the ball. These kinds of games happen, but the most important thing is that we won. My goal? I scored it thanks to the whole team — it was a great combination. We are all, of course, happy because we’ve won for the eighth time in a row. We’ll keep moving forward,” said Maksym Bragaru.

“We are very happy because we achieved our goal. We’ve made it to the Euros, but we will continue to strive for victories to finish in first place. We have a great understanding with the coaches, and we understand their tactics. Overall, we have a very strong team where we support each other. The atmosphere in the team is great. Scoring goals is fantastic, and I enjoy it. I want to do it as much as possible. But the main thing is that we won and earned six points from the two matches,” added Nazar Voloshyn.

Remember, Ukraine U-21 will play their next EURO 2025 (U-21) qualifying match on October 11, away against England.
