EURO 2025 (U-21): Ukraine U-21 players share their thoughts ahead of Serbia clash
Today, on September 6, the Ukraine U-21 team will play its next match in the EURO 2025 (U-21) qualifiers against Serbia.
Since September 2, the Blue and Yellow team has been preparing specifically for this official match in Riga, where they will face the Serbian squad. Midfielder Oleh Fedor and defender Artem Smolyakov shared their thoughts on the team's preparation.
"We have already analyzed the opponent, and from their squad list, it's clear that they have made significant changes compared to the players called up for previous camps. It will be a completely different team, but likely with the same playing qualities as before. We need the support of our fans more than ever. We'll give twice the effort on the pitch to bring joy to the spectators who come to cheer for us. We've set a very high bar for ourselves, and we need to maintain it. Our goal is only to win," said Oleh Fedor.
"The players in our team are in excellent shape right now, but we must not underestimate the Serbians. They have called up many new players, and despite their youth, they are already competing in the top leagues of various championships. So we need to prepare 100 percent. We're eagerly waiting for our fans because we play for them. It's always great to see a packed stadium. We need nothing but victory, as we aim to qualify for the Euro," added Artem Smolyakov.
The EURO 2025 (U-21) qualifying match between Ukraine and Serbia will kick off today at 19:00.
