Today, August 24th, on Independence Day, the 4th round of the 2024/2025 Ukrainian Championship kicked off with a match in Oleksandriya.

Ruslan Rotan's Oleksandriya, trailing 0:2 at home against Shakhtar midway through the first half, managed to turn the game around and win 4:3, taking sole possession of the top spot in the standings. Oleksandr Filippov scored a hat-trick for the home team.

For Shakhtar, players who were part of Serhiy Rebrov's squad at EURO 2024 featured in the match: Matviyenko (substituted in the 64th minute), Konoplya (substituted in the 78th minute), Bondar, and Sudakov.
