The head coach of Horodenka's "Proboi," Volodymyr Kovalyuk, commented for the official website of the UAFA on his team's advancement to the third preliminary round of the Vbet Cup of Ukraine:

— Last season, the paths of "Proboi" and "Kulikova" crossed in the top tier among amateurs when luck favored us at the final stage in the knockout matches.

We took on the mountain again yesterday, already in a cup match, but I cannot say that Kulikivtsi are easy opponents for my players. There was another intense battle, and everything came down to a penalty shootout after the game.

To be honest, during preparation we did not specifically train on taking penalties from the 11-meter mark so as not to give our opponent additional information. Everything was based on trust: when selecting the first five players, I asked the boys who wanted to take the shots. By the way, among those who immediately volunteered were 19-year-olds Volodymyr Ivanchuk and Andriy Ryzhko. They did not let us down, along with their teammates, while two guests missed.

By securing a spot in the third round, we have made a nice gift to our people's team "Proboi," which will celebrate its 100th anniversary on August 15.

Returning to cup battles — I would like for our next opponent to be a representative of the regional center, "Przyporozie," but the Ivano-Frankivsk team withdrew early. Now we are not against measuring ourselves against a neighbor — "Bukovyna."
