Ukraine U-19 futsal team defeats Serbia in Croatia tournament

As part of their preparation for the EURO-2025 (U-19) futsal qualifiers, Ihor Moskvychov's team participated in the Summer Cup tournament in Poreč, Croatia.

Nine teams competed in the tournament, initially divided into three groups of three. In Group B, Ukraine defeated Finland (4:1) but lost to Spain (0:5). Spain then beat Finland (2:0), resulting in Ukraine finishing second in their group.

In the second stage, where teams played against others who finished in the same position in their groups, Ihor Moskvychov's team competed for 4th-6th places. Initially, Ukraine lost to Poland (1:2), but today they triumphed over Serbia (3:1). Ukraine's final position will be determined after tomorrow's match between Poland and Serbia.

Our team will learn their opponents for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2025 (U-19) qualifiers during the preliminary and main round draws on October 31.

The inaugural UEFA U-19 Futsal Championship was held in Riga in 2019, with the second edition taking place in Jaén in 2022 (originally planned for 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and the third in Poreč in 2023. Spain (2019, 2022) and Portugal (2023) were champions.

The Ukrainian team has participated in all three final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odehov's team finished third in the group, and in 2022, they reached the semifinals. In 2023, Igor Moskvychov's team also reached the semifinals.
