"Of course, we all want to win every game. But for me the most important thing is to have a team on the football field. In official matches I expect more from the players, but today you also saw good play from the German national team. The first 20 minutes were good. Good pressing. The opponent has quality players who only started creating their chances at the end of the first half. I think if we had scored one goal, we would have scored a second and third.

After halftime, we managed to increase the pressure. For about 15-20 minutes Ukraine could not get out of its own penalty area. I must note the brilliant play of their goalkeeper. The blue-and-yellow were helped not only by luck but also by good defensive play," — stated the head coach of the German national team.
