Taras Stepanenko: "We have a strong team with young players in top leagues and experienced footballers, achieving a great balance"
Midfielder of the national team of Ukraine, Taras Stepanenko, together with head coach Serhiy Rebrov, participated in a press conference ahead of the friendly match against Germany.
— How strong is your team? Do you expect to reach at least the quarter-finals?
— I have already been to two European Championships. This is my third. We have a strong and good team. Young players are playing in the top leagues, and we have experienced footballers, achieving a very good balance. Over the period, we have improved from match to match. We want to show good football and achieve good results.
— What is the most difficult part of preparing for the European Championship?
— We have very good conditions to play football and train. But the most important thing for me is when you wake up in the morning and read the news about how Russia is destroying our cities and killing our people… This is the most difficult part of the preparation.
— Artem Dovbyk became the top scorer in the Spanish Championship. How important is he for the team?
— Artem is a top player, the best scorer. We are happy for Dovbyk and his trophy. It gives him confidence. This is very good for our team.
