EURO 2024: Ukraine to set up camp near Frankfurt

During the final tournament of Euro 2024, the national team of Ukraine will be based in the town of Wiesbaden, with a population of less than 300,000, which serves as the capital of the Hesse federal state. The largest city in this state is Frankfurt, located just 30 km away from the administrative center. Among the twin cities of Wiesbaden is our Kamianets-Podilskyi.

In Wiesbaden, our team will reside and train at the local stadium. From their tournament base, the national team will have convenient access to all three cities hosting the group stage matches. The longest distance to Munich, where the Ukrainian team will play their opening Euro match against Romania (June 17), is 400 km. The blue-yellows plan to arrive there two days before the game. As for the next two cities of the group stage, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart, the distance is practically the same — about 200 kilometers. Ukrainians plan to travel there by bus.

The Ukrainian national team will begin preparations for the final tournament on May 30 in another German city — Nuremberg, where on June 3, they will play a friendly match against the hosts of Euro 2024. The next day, our team will fly to Poland, where on June 7, they will play a friendly match against the local national team. The final game before the pre-tournament training camp will be a meeting with the Moldovan national team on June 11 in Chisinau. The next day, on June 12, the national team will arrive at the permanent location for Euro 2024.
