EURO-2024 (U-17): Ukraine emerges victorious, clinching their elite round group and booking a ticket to the final tournament!
Today, the youth national team of Ukraine (players not older than 2007) concluded their campaign in the Euro 2024 elite qualifying round for players under 17 with a match against Slovakia.
Previously in Group 4, the blue-yellows defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0). Today, under the guidance of Yuriy Moroz, they faced Slovakia in a decisive match, vying for a direct qualification spot in Euro 2024 (U-17).
The game, held in the Greek city of Patras at the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium, was interrupted due to a storm for four hours during the first half. After the players returned to the field, our boys scored twice before halftime — first, Stepаnov from a pass by Strilchuk, then Redushko doubled the lead for the blue-yellows.
In the second half, Stepаnov completed his brace with an assist from Drahan. As a result, Yuriy Moroz's players won with a score of 3:0.
Thus, our boys secured three victories, topped the group, and qualified for the European Championship, which will take place from May 20 to June 5 in Cyprus, featuring 16 national teams. The draw for the final tournament will take place on April 3 in Ayia Napa.
