EURO-2024 (U-17): Yuriy Moroz unveils Ukraine roster ready for elite round

The Ukraine U-17 national team lineup for the elite round qualifiers of Euro 2024 among under-17 players (born no later than 2007) has been finalized.

Under the guidance of Volodymyr Yezerskyi, the Ukrainians secured third place in their qualifying group and advanced further as one of the best third-placed teams.

Following the draw for the elite round, the blue-yellow team found themselves in Group 4, where they will face Greece, Switzerland, and Slovakia. Greece will host the mini-tournament, with matches taking place from March 6th to March 12th in Patras at the Pampeloponnisiako and Kostas Davourlis Stadiums.

Yuriy Moroz, recently appointed as the new head coach of the Ukraine U-17 team, has announced the squad for the elite round matches.

Ukraine U-17 roster

Goalkeepers: Oleksandr Kharechko (Rukh Lviv), Nazar Makarenko (Dnipro-1 Dnipro), Illia Voloshyn (Real Madrid, Spain).

Defenders: Kyrylo Dihtyar (Metalist Kharkiv), Oleksiy Rybak, Demyan Tretyak (both Dynamo Kyiv), Yevheniy Ryabokon (Slovacko, Czech Republic), Mykyta Sheleketa, Yehor Dankovskyi (both Shakhtar Donetsk), Dmytro Strilchuk (Bayern Munich, Germany).

Midfielders: Nazar Bondar (Rukh Lviv), Oleksandr Drahan (Atalanta, Italy), Yevheniy Harmash (Shakhtar Donetsk), Bohdan Olychenko (Bayern Munich, Germany), Volodymyr Ozymai, Pavlo Lyusin, Bohdan Redushko (all Dynamo Kyiv), Ali Khalilov (Dnipro-1 Dnipro).

Forwards: Dmytro Bohdanov (Dynamo Dresden, Germany), Ivan Denysov (Rukh Lviv), Artem Stepanov (Bayer, Germany).

The elite round draw divided 32 teams into eight groups, with matches scheduled for March. Fifteen spots for the final stage will be up for grabs, which will take place from May 20th to June 5th, 2024, in Cyprus. The top eight group winners from the elite round qualification and the seven best runners-up with the best results will advance to the final stage, along with the host country.
