UEFA has published the calendar for European club tournaments in 2024. The next season will start on June 18 with the draw of the first qualifying rounds of the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

For Ukraine, the Euroseason begins on June 19 when pairs for the second qualifying stage of the Champions League and the second round of the Conference League will be drawn. The first matches for our representatives at these stages are scheduled for July 23-25.

Overall, five clubs from Ukraine will participate in European competitions.

The winner of the Vbet League will receive a ticket to the play-off round of Champions League qualification (but if the title is won by "Shakhtar," it may qualify directly for the main grid under certain circumstances). To the group stage of the Champions League, there is only one step; in case of failure, our champion will enter the Europa League group stage.

The club that wins second place will enter the second qualifying round of the Champions League. It needs to overcome three opponents to reach the group stage of the Champions League. In case of failure at any stage, our representative will move to the Europa League; however, they will only qualify for a group if they defeat one opponent in the Champions League, otherwise they must go through qualification in the Europa League as well.

One club from Ukraine will represent the country in the Europa League – in the third qualifying round. This right goes to either the Cup winner or the bronze medalist of the UPL. In case of failure in the Europa League qualification, they automatically move to the Conference League; however, they will only qualify for a group if they defeat one opponent in the Europa League.

In the basic register of the Conference League, the country will have two delegates. The third team from the UPL (or fourth, depending on the situation in the Vbet Cup) and the fourth (or fifth) will start in the second qualifying round. Thus, our clubs need to overcome three opponents to reach the main grid of the Conference League.

It is worth noting that in the group stages of all three European competitions, 36 clubs will participate.

The biggest change will be the transition from a traditional group stage to a single league stage including all participating teams. Now, each club in the Champions League will have at least eight matches in the league stage against eight different opponents (four home and four away), not six games against three teams played both at home and away. The top eight teams of the league automatically qualify for the play-offs, while teams ranked ninth to 24th compete in a two-legged play-off to secure their place in the round of 16.

Similar changes will also be applied to the Europa League (eight matches per team in the league stage) and the Conference League (six matches per team in the league stage).

The 7th and 8th rounds of the Champions League and Europa League will take place in January 2025. The Conference League will conclude with the sixth round in December.
