Ukraine national team and English Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko — another homegrown player whose name has not been absent from the sports pages of England and Europe.

Having missed the start of the 2023/2024 season due to injury, the left-back returned to genuine competition and healthy rivalry, securing his place among the first eleven in almost every match. This was even mentioned several times by Everton manager Sean Dyche at press conferences. Moreover, beyond defensive duties, early in November Mykolenko scored two consecutive goals against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

If not for the negative backdrop that enveloped the club this fall due to a 10-point deduction (for breaching financial fair play rules), one could confidently say that Vitaliy is experiencing a very successful period in his career. An interesting and telling detail: from kickoff to final whistle, the Ukrainian played in 15 of Everton's 18 matches. Stability is impressive.
