In the fifth round of the UEFA Youth League group stage, Donetsk Shakhtar's U-19 team defeated their Belgian counterparts from Club Brugge K.V. U-19.

The miners hosted their opponents in Nordstadt, Germany. As early as the 7th minute, Oleksandr Yushchenko put Shakhtar ahead, but on the 60th minute, the Belgians equalized. However, shortly after, the Ukrainians regained the lead thanks to an own goal by the opposition, and towards the end of the match, Danyil Savin secured the final score at 3:1.

Unfortunately, the miners lost their chances of advancing from the group. Their next UEFA Youth League game will be on December 13 away against FC Porto.
