In the current format, all accumulated points will be counted at the second stage this year, not so-called "golden" points as they were last season.

Here's why Lviv's "Karpaty" and Petrivka's "Ingulets," who have pulled far ahead of their pursuers in their groups, can already be confidently greeted with a direct promotion to the class above.

The battle for third and fourth places, which grant the right to play-off matches against UPL relegation candidates, is expected to be very intense. A similar situation can also be anticipated among clubs that will make efforts to avoid dropping down to the second league.

Yesterday "Karpaty" secured important three points by taking a victory away from Buzhanka's "Niva" — their main pursuer in Group A. The decisive moment came when captain of the green-and-whites Ambrosiy Chachua scored on the 61st minute. After the final whistle, guest coach Myron Markevych praised the defensive efforts of his players and noted that they missed several goal-scoring opportunities in the second half.

And in Group B today, all eyes were on a match between teams from the top "Left Bank" group — "Ingulets." The hosts secured a very convincing 3-0 victory thanks to goals by Syntsiy, Sukhorechok, and Litovchenko.
