In the sixth round of the first league, a special interest was sparked by the match in Lviv, where "Karpaty" hosted "Epicon," which last season twice claimed victory over the Galicians.

And today, the players under Sergiy Nagornyy's guidance put up stiff resistance until the 70th minute when the club's final summer recruit — Brazilian forward Kristian — appeared in the lineup. And it just so happened that with his very first touch on the ball, he elegantly guided it into "Epicon"'s goal. By the way, Kristian was brought to Lviv by his agent Batista, who once scored many goals for... "Karpaty."

The Lvivians seized control of the game and soon another of their new signings, Vitaliy Ravlyk, who moved from "Agrobusiness," delivered a thunderous strike to set the final score at 2-0.

This victory allowed Miron Martsynets' charges to become sole leaders in Group A, as their main rival, "Niva" from Buzova, lost points in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Let's also note the debutant, "Khust," which recorded its first win — over "Podillya" (2-1).

And in Group B, the central match took place in Petrov, where "Ingulets" hosted Zaporizhzhia's "Metalurh." The visitors went ahead early after a shot by Dmytro Krapivnyy. However, this did not derail the hosts, who after halftime three times forced the Zaporizhzhians to restart from midfield (notable were Vitaliy Kolcov and Denis Rezepov). The only thing that "Metalurh" managed was to reduce the deficit in stoppage time to a minimum — 3-2.
