The documentary clip "Special Season" immerses viewers in the events of 2022, when a full-scale war led to the complete suspension of Ukrainian football with no prospects.

Initiatives by the UAF at all levels introduced mechanisms that allowed for the revival of the club season. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, set an intricate but entirely feasible task — to play matches precisely on our home stadiums.

Football became the first sport to be relaunched under full-scale war conditions. The protocol for conducting competitions subsequently allowed other sports to start as well.

The heroes of the film are football players, coaches, club owners and referees who share their experiences and reflections. We learn about the realities of football amidst sirens and the intricacies of holding matches from the minister of sport, heads of military administrations, and representatives of law enforcement agencies.

The film takes us through the decks of the special season-2022/2023, during which it was possible to restart eight championships at various levels. This once again proved the indomitability of the Ukrainian people and their readiness to overcome any difficulties on their path.
