Youth national team goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin appeared alongside head coach Ruslan Rotan at a press conference ahead of the Euro-2023 (U-21) match against Spain, which will take place on June 27 in Bucharest (kickoff at 9:45 PM Kyiv time).
— You have played three matches for the national team and two — for the youth team. How do you manage to recover? Is there any fatigue from such a schedule?
— I really love playing football, so it's a pleasure for me. The more games — the better for me. Of course, recovery is necessary. We have our masseurs, various vitamins, and the simplest thing — sleep and proper nutrition. There are no problems with this. I'm ready to play as many more matches as it takes to keep winning and representing the national team.
— The Ukrainian team has already advanced to the quarterfinals. Do you feel any relaxation or do you remain focused?
— When you play against a national team like Spain, I don't think there can be any relaxation. Of course, there's no longer that psychological pressure, but we all want to play our football. Facing such a top-tier national team will show the results of our work and what we've built together. This is a great opportunity to showcase ourselves. It will be an extremely interesting match, we are geared up for maximum performance.
— You have played against Spanish teams in the Champions League. Other players from the Ukrainian national team also had similar experience. Can this help you?
— I believe that playing matches against Real Madrid in the Champions League generally helps your career growth. Playing against the best teams in the world is a dream for everyone. These games will certainly help, but they are not a factor for victory. It's necessary for everyone to be maximally prepared and act as one unit.
