Semi-defender of the Ukraine youth team Georgiy Sudakov appeared alongside head coach Ruslan Rotan at a press conference ahead of the Euro-2023 (U-21) match against Romania, which will take place on June 24 in Bucharest (kick-off at 7:00 PM Kyiv time).
— You have three matches behind you for the national team, coming off the bench in the game against Croatia. What is your functional state? Are you ready to play 90 minutes?
— Of course, I played three full games over a short period of time. But I joined the youth team after going through a very difficult and long stage with it, experiencing many emotions with this team. I hope that I have recovered now. Right now there are a lot of emotions after the matches we've played. However, we need to approach the next matches with a cool head. I am 100% ready, regardless of how many minutes I need to play — 90 or more.
— The game against Romania will be extremely difficult considering the support for the opponent's team from their fans. What are your thoughts on this?
— At this Euro, there are no weak teams, all national teams are very strong. Playing against Croatia was challenging. The same will be true for Romania, which is hosting the tournament. But we prepare ourselves, have an idea that we stick to. We want to show our football, what we're capable of. We never shy away from the opponent's game but primarily — from our own. We approach every Euro match in the same way.
