On June 16 in Nyon, Switzerland, during the draw for the first round of Euro-2023/2024 qualification, the Ukrainian WU-17 women's national team will learn the names of their opponents.

The ceremony, which starts at 11.00 Kyiv time, will determine the group compositions and hosts for both leagues this year. This is reported by the official UEFA website.

In League A, 28 teams will compete, including seven teams that advanced from League B based on the results of the second round of Euro-2022/2023. Participants will be divided into seven groups. Teams in one group will play each other at the home ground of one of the participants in a mini-tournament format.

Teams that finish fourth will continue their season in the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round will depend on which places teams secure in their groups during the first round. Sweden will also participate, despite having an automatic qualification to the final stage as a host.

Teams in League B (including those that dropped from League A after the second round of Euro-2022/2023) compete for promotion to League A in six groups. Group winners and runners-up with the best record against teams finishing first and third will advance to a higher division.

Draw Order

In the first round, 50 participants will be divided into League A (28 teams) and League B (22 teams) based on rankings from the second round of the season-2022/2023. In League A, teams will be split into seven quartets, in League B — four quartets and two trios.

All national teams are divided into four seeding pots (in League A — seven teams per pot, in League B — six teams in Pots 1 and 2, ten — in Pot 3). In each group of League A there will be one representative from each pot, while in League B each group will include one team from the first and second pots, two teams from the third pot will go to all groups except Groups V5 and V6, where only one will enter.

According to previously adopted decisions by UEFA's Executive Committee and UEFA Working Group on Extraordinary Situations, the following national teams cannot be drawn into the same group: Belarus and Ukraine, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

After the draw, hosts of mini-tournaments will be determined. Matches will take place from August 1 to November 20, 2023.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian WU-17 women's national team in Euro-2022/2023 qualification in their first round group secured the last place and dropped to League B. In the second round, blue-and-yellow secured a spot at the top by defeating Bulgaria (2:1) and Latvia (5:0) , returning to the higher division.
