The interest in the final round of the second league championship was fueled by uncertainty about which team would secure the second place and earn the right to play play-off matches against one of the bottom teams from the first league — FSK "Mariupol". Three participants were competing for this position.

According to most experts, the best chances belonged to "Chayka", which would have achieved its goal with a guest victory over "Zvyagel". However, it must be said that doing so was difficult because the city team's unbeaten streak counted seven matches. The opponents exchanged goals early on, but then both teams pushed the game away from their own gates. In the second half, the battle continued at midfield pace. After Arthur Vashchishin's shot, the hosts went ahead, but Oleksiy Litovchenko equalized — 2:2. Near the end of the match, the guests twice failed to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities and had to settle for a draw.

Meanwhile, another contender, "Khust", played away against Buzhanska "Niva", which secured first place and promotion long before the finish. The Zakarpattians needed to win in Bucha and hope that "Chayka" would lose points. They accomplished their task. Guests opened the score in the middle of the first half (scored by Bohdan Pavlich), but just before halftime, Igor Tykhnenko was penalized, leaving them short-handed. However, this did not knock the players out of contention; they stood like a wall in front of their own goal and maintained the winning result. 0:1. A few minutes earlier, it became known about "Chayka's" draw, so the city team's joy was understandable...

Thus, three teams finished with the same number of points, but thanks to additional indicators, "Khust" secured second place and will play the June playoff matches against FSK "Mariupol".
