In March, Sergei Sapronov's wards earned the right to advance in their class. In Group V6 of the second round of Euro-2023 (WU-17) qualifiers, Ukrainians secured a place in the higher division thanks to victories over Bulgaria (2:1) and Latvia (5:0).

Almost entirely renewed, the Ukrainian women's U-17 team (players born in 2007–2008), which will play in League A of the first Euro-2024 qualifying round this fall, has set off to gain experience at the UEFA Development Tournament taking place from April 23 to 28 in Romania. And before that, with support from the Romanian Football Federation, the girls held a short training camp (April 17–21).

The Ukrainian team's opponents at the tournament were their peers from Azerbaijan, Greece, and Romania. Today, blue-and-yellow faced off against Azerbaijan. Our team won with a score of 4-0, scoring all four goals in the first half. Olena Martchenyuk scored a brace, while Evgenia Kupcova and Diana Tkachuk each netted one goal. The next match for Sergei Sapronov's wards will be against Greece on April 25.

According to the tournament rules, each team plays three matches. A win earns three points; in case of a draw, a penalty shootout takes place, with the winner receiving two points and the loser one point. The games will take place at the National Football Center in Buftea, 20 km from the capital, Bucharest.
