At the board meeting chaired by the first vice-president of the UAF, Oleg Protsasov, among others, the executive director of the UPL, Yevgen Diky and the president of the PFL, Oleksandr Kadynko participated. During the meeting, information was heard about the formation of a competition calendar project for professional teams in the upcoming season, including dates for the Ukrainian Cup draw.
We remind you that the 2021/2022 Ukrainian Cup was suspended at the quarter-final stage due to the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. Later, when a decision was made to resume competitions among professional teams, including the special championship-2022/2023 under wartime conditions, the issue of holding the Ukrainian Cup for the 2022/2023 season was not considered.
At the same time, during the winter off-season in December, the leadership of the UPL and PFL conducted a survey of clubs to find out their position regarding the possibility of resuming the cup tournament in the second half of the season. Most UPL clubs did not support this idea at that time—mainly due to the logistical difficulties of team travel and organizing matches under full-scale war conditions, as well as the lack of sufficient free dates in the championship calendar.
