Ukraine national team defender Oleksandr Karavaev spoke about the last training session of the national team at the "Brentford" base before the qualifying match for Euro 2024.

On March 24, the Ukraine national team held their final training session at Brentford FC's base as part of their preparation for the opening match in the Euro 2024 qualification cycle against England. Now, under head coach Ruslan Rotan, the players have a pre-match practice and then the actual game.

About the unusual training session a day before an important match, defender of Kyiv's Dynamo Oleksandr Karavaev shared his thoughts.

"Today we had an emotional workout with elements of humor, but at the same time intense. It was difficult to execute some technical elements in certain places, yet it was interesting. We laughed a lot and participated in games. This all improves our emotional state.

When your teammates who have given up playing stand in line as goalkeepers, of course, I want to hit them and score. Otherwise, why kick? But when you yourself take that position, it's somehow uncomfortable for your teammates to score...

After the friendly match with "Brentford," we didn't feel tired at all—it was all very good. Everyone played one half, except Boyko who played the entire game. The workload was moderate. It was a normal training session with increased responsibility.

Now there is great competition in the team—everyone is ready and working hard. And the atmosphere is good, as well as the fighting spirit, which is very important—it's at a high level. We are one family, doing one thing, and everyone helps each other," — said Oleksandr Karavaev.

We remind you that the Euro 2024 qualification match between England and Ukraine will take place on March 26 in London (kick-off at 19:00 Kyiv time).
