Semi-defender of the Ukraine national team Georgiy Sudakov spoke about his team's work during preparations for their first qualifier match in Euro 2024 — against England.

On March 22, the Ukrainian national team held its second training session at Brentford's club base in London. Twenty-three players participated, twenty of whom were field players. After warming up and playing square games, the team moved on to practicing game structure and executing tactical tasks through game series.

Semi-defender of Donetsk Shakhtar Georgiy Sudakov spoke about the specifics of preparing under Ruslan Rotan's leadership.

"The mood is positive, we are getting ready for the match. The atmosphere is just super. I'm happy to see all my teammates. For me, Ruslan Rotan is a well-known coach from the youth team. His coaching style hasn't changed, although in 'youth,' there's a slightly different training schedule. This is the first national team gathering under Ruslan Petrovich's leadership, and he wants to convey his ideas to all players, so he pays a lot of attention to tactics. But the actual trainings are just like those in the youth squad.

This season, we've already had tough matches with Shakhtar — Champions League, Europa League. But I haven't played at this level for the national team yet. Only in friendly games two years ago. A lot has changed since then — the coach and the team itself. And I have also changed. So it's a new challenge.

As for England's national team, they have a very strong lineup with many options for players. In my opinion, who plays in their team doesn't matter much. Anyone can step onto the field and not stand out from the team. We don't count on an easy win against England after the match with Italy. We need to prepare one hundred percent for this very important and difficult confrontation," — said Georgiy Sudakov.

We remind you that the Euro 2024 qualifier match between the national teams of England and Ukraine will take place on March 26 in London (start time — 19.00 Kyiv time).
