National team interim head coach Ruslan Rotan has announced a squad of 26 players called up for the March training camp to prepare for and participate in the first Euro 2024 qualifying match against England (March 26, London, Wembley Stadium).

The interim manager also named a reserve team consisting of 13 players. In case of possible injuries, footballers from the reserve list can join the main group.

The two best teams from each group will qualify for the 24-team final tournament where Germany is already guaranteed a spot. Three additional spots will be determined in playoff matches of the Nations League on March 21 and 26, 2024.

Playoff Format

The Nations League/Euro 2024 playoffs will be held in a knockout format (two semifinals and a final) across three tiers — Leagues A, B and C. If the group winner of the Nations League has already qualified for Euro 2024 through this tournament's qualification process, its place in the playoff goes to the next highest-ranked team in that division. If there are fewer than four teams left in a tier who can play in the playoffs, the spot will be awarded by the league below with consideration of overall Nations League ranking (the best team from League D takes priority). Thus, each of the three playoffs will have its own winner, which will become a Euro 2024 participant. 

The draw for the final tournament of the European Championship will take place in December 2023 and the event itself will run from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
