The third UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship will take place in the odd year of 2023, as originally planned. The qualification rounds are scheduled for January and March, with the final stage set to occur around September.

Today, on November 3rd, the draw for both the preliminary and main qualifying rounds of the UEFA Euro-2023 (U-19) Futsal Championship took place. As a result, Ukraine's youth team has been placed in Group 2 of the main round, where they will face Romania, Serbia, and the winner of Group B from the preliminary round. The mini-tournament will be hosted by Serbia.

The venue for the final tournament of the UEFA Euro-2022/2023 Futsal Championship among under-19 boys was designated as Poreč (Croatia). In addition to the hosts, Croatia, seven other teams will participate in the final stage, which will be determined after the second qualifying round, scheduled to conclude by March 26, 2023. The format of the final tournament remains unchanged: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals.

A record-breaking 35 teams will participate in the qualification rounds. Ukraine's national team holds the fourth position in the ranking and will start its journey from the main round. In this stage, 25 teams with the highest rankings and three winners of the preliminary round will form seven groups of four participants each. Seven group winners from the main round will advance to the final tournament.

As a reminder, the inaugural UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship took place in Rijeka in 2019, and the second edition was held in Hain in 2022 — both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine's national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in their group, and in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals.
