In the final match of the qualification for the 2023 World Beach Games, Ukraine's women's beach soccer team lost to England in a tense battle.
Today, under Yuri Klimenko’s guidance, who have already secured their place at the 2023 World Beach Games taking place from August 6-12 on Bali Island in Indonesia, faced England in the final of the European qualification tournament for gold.
The first period was very tense and despite numerous chances for both teams, it ended with a scoreless draw. At the start of the second half, the English team stepped up their game, and midway through the period our defense faltered. Gemma Hiller and Molly Clark managed to score two goals in quick succession against Anastasiia Teresh.
The final stretch began with a goal by Sara Kempson and a penalty on Yuliia Kostyuk, which limited our girls' chances of catching up. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so. The match ended in defeat—0:3.
Thus, Ukraine's women's team secured the second place in the European qualification for the 2023 World Beach Games. England took first place, and Spain came third after defeating Italy (5-3) in the bronze medal match.
