The second round of the Ukrainian Championship began with three Saturday matches. The most goals were scored in Lviv, where a local team hosted Luhansk's "Zorya."
The opponents exchanged goal-scoring opportunities at the beginning of the match. After halftime, Nich put the Lviv players ahead, and later the hosts could have scored again. However, "Zorya" managed to turn the tide thanks to goals from substitutes. First, Mishnyov equalized, and in the 90th minute, Alefirenko's shot from a sharp angle secured three points for the Luhansk team.
In Uzhhorod, "Vorskla" lost for the second time this season. In the first half of the game against "Veres," the Poltava team took the lead after a successful counterattack, but managed to snatch victory at the end of the match. The decisive goal was scored in the 90+6th minute following a defensive lapse by the white-and-green team. Ukrainian national goalkeeper Riznyk played the full match for "Vorskla."
A scoreless draw concluded the match between "Metalist 1925" and "Chornomorets" at NSK "Olympic." Meanwhile, Kharkiv players failed to convert a penalty kick, while Odessa's goalkeeper Nepogodov saved an 11-meter shot in the second consecutive game.
