Ukraine's beach soccer team coach Mykola Kostyenko announced the names of players who will participate in the qualification for the 2023 World Beach Games and the second stage of Euroleague-2022.

The Ukraine national beach soccer team has started preparations at Kyiv's Hydropark for two very important tournaments. From August 29 to September 4, blue-and-yellow will play in the European qualification tournament for the 2023 World Beach Games, which will take place in Catania on Sicily.

And from September 8-11, Ukrainians will compete at the second stage of Euroleague-2022 in Cagliari on Sardinia.

The head coach of Ukraine's beach soccer team Mykola Kostyenko named the names of 14 players who will enter the team roster for the tournaments in Italy.

Goalkeepers: Andriy Nerus ("Griffin"), Taras Kovalenko (NC Beachsoccer).

Field players: Igor Borsuk ("Levante", Spain), Oleksandr Koroinychuk, Ivan Glutsyk, Maxim Voytok, Yurii Shcheritsia, Dmytro Medvid (all — "VIT"), Dmytro Voytenko, Yaroslav Zavorotnyi, Andriy Pashko, Igor Levchenko (all — "Alternativa"), Oleg Zborovskyy, Andriy Borsuk (both — "Arthur Music").

The coach of the blue-and-yellow also shared details about our team's preparation for the tournaments on Sicily and Sardinia.

"Last week in Kyiv, a very high-level Ukrainian beach soccer championship took place. Many matches were marked by great intensity, and almost all of the national team players participated, except Igor Borsuk. But he is currently training in Spain with "Levante", staying in shape, and we maintain contact with him.

A lot of matches at the national level were played at a high pace and featured tenacious opponents. As a coach, I enjoyed most of them. The final match was very interesting; the boys demonstrated good defensive play until the last second. I am convinced that participating in the Ukrainian championship before the games in Italy benefited our team.

On Monday, the guys had a day off, and on Tuesday and Thursday we have training sessions planned in Kyiv. On Friday morning, we will travel to Poland from where we will head to Italy. After arriving in Catania, we will have one day of rest followed by several training sessions and theoretical lessons. We skip our first match according to the schedule, so we will have a chance to watch a group game between our opponents—Azerbaijan and Switzerland. And then it's our matches,"— Mykola Kostyenko said.
