Preparation of Second League teams for the new season is in full swing. Gradually, vacancies for head coaches at clubs that were left without managers after last year's relegation are being filled.

Thus, Oleg Ostapenko has taken charge of Vinnitsa "Niva", who previously played as a goalkeeper for this team and later was responsible for preparing goalkeepers. His assistants will be the former well-known goalkeeper of "Metalist" Oleksandr Horiainov, as well as Petro Anisim and Olena Kholos.

Podolia has already signed contracts with newcomers Yevhen Moroz, Ivan Petruk, and Igor Bilik. However, as shown by the recent friendly match, there is still a lot of work ahead for Ostapenko and his assistants with "Niva" (Buzova), which plans to debut in the second league. As for this mentioned friendly game, footballers from Kyiv region turned out to be stronger — 2:1.

Significant changes have also occurred at "Bukovyna". The new president of FC is Andriy Safroniak, who, by the way, played for this team in 2004–2006. The new head coach has been appointed as Andriy Melnychuk, who is well known to local fans since he previously guarded Bukovyna's goal and was already a manager of Chernivtsi in the season-2019/2020. Igor Nabolotny became the director of FC, while Ivan Pavlyk is now the team leader.

Defenders Mykhailo Pavlyk, Vasyl Hakhman and midfielder Andriy Shishygyn have returned to "Bukovyna", while versatile player Volodymyr Stolyar extended his contract.

In the last friendly match, Bukovyna settled accounts with "Epizentrum" (Dunayevets) and tipped the scales in their favor — 3:2. The winning goal was scored by forward Andriy Korolyanchuk in extra time, who also decided to return to "Bukovyna" after a fairly long break.

A whole group of potential newcomers is currently undergoing trials at "Chayka" (Petrov Borschagivka). Head coach Denis Khomutov has plenty of options. So far, his wards have won friendlies against amateurs from "Partizan" (Kodra) — 4:1 and "Sokol" (Mykhailivka-Rubizhivka) — 2:0.
