23 players continued their preparation for the UEFA 2022 European Championship semi-final match. In the morning, the coaching staff focused on executing and actions during standard situations, as well as on developing understanding among specific units — defense and attack, while in the evening they concentrated on passing, ball control, and working in game series with role changes.
Defender of Kyiv's "Dynamo," Illia Zabarnyi, shared his impressions from the training process.
"The victory at EuroBasket is a great impulse for all of Ukraine. Now our country is going through tough times, and this is an emotional moment for every Ukrainian. When we watched the final vote count, my teammates and I were very anxious, with hearts pounding. But we believed in victory, it was meant to happen. We deserved it.
We also need to lift the spirits of Ukrainians on the football field. Not just in June. Already now there will be matches that can give our supporters a positive mood. For example, we are going to play against "Empoli." Although this is not a leader, I consider that in Serie A there are no weak teams, they know how to play. They will try to show everything they're capable of. We come out to fight not only for ourselves but also for the entire country.
As for training, we have been under pressure for two days now. This is necessary, and as professionals, we need to endure it to lay the foundation for upcoming matches," — said Illia Zabarnyi.
Recall that the semi-final match of the UEFA 2022 European Championship between the teams of Scotland and Ukraine will take place on June 1st in Glasgow at Hampden Park stadium.
